Cannabis Water is the Future!!

Culinary cannabis. Edibles in more colors than you’d see in a Sherwin Williams. Strains named for Girl Scout Cookies, Gummy Bears and Frankenberry. You’d be forgiven for thinking that the future of weed will be about flavor. But a Washington company named Pearl20 may prove the exact opposite in time.

Its product is a clear, tasteless, odorless weed-water. And going beyond just a new source of hydration with the benefits of getting you high, it also presents itself as an extremely flexible product for people who want to use the water to make their own edibles and cannabis-infused products at home, without the taste of weed.

You can freeze it in ice cubes and popsicles. Add it to soup broths and braises. Turn it into lotions and massage oils. Pour it over some guy’s head in the middle of a marathon while standing on the sidelines. Anything you might ordinarily do with water, only with the winning power of a 50/50 THC/CBD ratio.

Much like the bong, Pearl20 is the product of impressive brain-power. It was developed by an MIT cannabis expert and a food scientist, both of whose parents imaginably said at one point, “You’re dedicating the next three years to what after getting that degree?” and are now being proven wrong on this very point by their kids and our story cheering on their great insight. Take that, mom and dad.

Anyway, this Crystal Pepsi of pot comes down a little harshly on the diverse and, to many, pleasurable flavors found within cannabis and its derivatives, something we’ve seen employed skillfully in the hands of talented chefs and confectioners.

In one part of its website, Pearl20 even touts its product by claiming the water “came from medical cannabis patients in search of products that didn’t taste like mud… [eliminating] nasty weed-tasting ‘sandpaper-in-your-mouth’ edibles and beverages.”

Well, not everyone went to MIT, guys. Nonetheless, and despite the fact Pearl20 can currently only be obtained in Washington, the innovation of the product bodes well for the future of cannabis.

Endowing the world with a modifiable marijuana product like this functions a little like free-sourcing. Sharp minds will hopefully innovate new products from the water, allowing those in need improved access to and greater efficiency from cannabis. While giving the rest of us new and sundry ways of getting super high for concerts.
